This piece is made with hand screen printed, painted, and collaged elements all joined together to give it a raw street meets pop look. The collage is made up of clippings from 1950's and 60's magazines as well as propaganda pamphlets I got in person from the chapel that currently is on the Mt. Carmel compound site in Waco, Texas.  Another note to that effect is, I used two rocks I brought back from my visit to Mt. Carmel and crushed and ground them into fine powder. I took that powder and mixed it into the yellow paint used in the painting. I painted the background with reds and yellows allowing natural tones of orange to come through in random places to resemble fire from a distance.

False prophecy and idolizing  is as old as time but sometimes two figures have parallel similarities in the way that people place their lives and faith in what or who they think they are. Obviously Jim Morrison was troubled but he wasn't evil. David Koresh was troubled too, but he to the point of insanity. For both people there was (and is) a sect of people who saw them as  the Messiah. They heard their words as though they came from Christ's mouth and  clung to every word and thing they did. False prophecy. is the very thing that even the bible warns against yet hipocracy knows no limits. That is the point and message in this piece. The universe aligns and distorts things to the point where things begin to look the same.
